Serve Gold Cup Coffee with BUNN

It’s not necessary to purchase expensive new drip coffee brewing equipment to serve customers a complex, flavorful beverage brewed to SCAE Gold Cup standards. Existing coffee brewers boast a variety of features that allow operators to control brewing. By preserving the inherent subtleties and nuances that define a single origin or estate coffee, you will delight your customers and bring them back again and again.

Randy Pope, Director of the BUNN Brewing Center, has been studying coffee brewing for over a quarter-century. He shares his expertise in this Tea & Coffee Asia article
“Pulse Brew and Pre-infusion: New Tools for Filter Drip Brewing” published in Q1, 2008.

Low-Profile SmartWAVE™ Brews Custom Coffee

Silver
The SmartWAVE™ low-profile coffee brewer provides flexible, custom coffee brewing. The adjustable legs and slide out tray make it possible to brew into 1.9 liter thermal carafes as well as a variety of lever-action and push-button airpots. Easily transport these to remote serving areas and keep coffee hot and fresh for hours.

The brewer’s SmartWAVE technology dispenses hot water to enhance turbulence and provide uniform extraction and its BrewMETER™ interface enables total coffee flavor management and control over extraction time.

The brewer is small enough (at 43.2cm) to fit under a standard cabinet. BUNN offers a Silver Series™ version with analog switches, accompanied by red/green LED for programming and brewing status. Choose from three pulse brew routines to adjust the coffee flavor profile. Energy-saver mode, standard on all models, reduces tank temperature during idle periods.

The Bunn-O-Matic Corporation – A History of Innovation and Commitment

Understanding customer requirements has always been important to BUNN. When Jacob Bunn opened his grocery store in Springfield, Illinois, USA, over 160 years ago, a young Abe Lincoln was one of the first customers. Because we focus on meeting the needs of our customers and producing high quality products, five generations later, the BUNN business has prospered, spreading across the globe.

Since 1957 when George Bunn invented the flat-bottom paper coffee filter for commercial use, Bunn-O-Matic has been at the forefront of beverage equipment innovation: inventing the flat-bottom paper filter for commercial use, the pour-over coffee brewer, and the first fresh-brewed iced tea brewer.

As customers entered the digital age, BUNN embraced sophisticated new technology to help you serve excellent coffee and beverages. At BUNN, we’re committed to helping you deliver the most profitable beverages.

For over 167 years, our core principles have never wavered, and we share them with employees, suppliers and customers: honesty in communication; integrity in business; and courtesy in dealing with others. These three core principles guide our business activity every day.

We stay focused on your needs -- one of the many benefits of being a BUNN customer.

Bunn-O-Matic Corporation continues to be based in Springfield, Illinois and serves beverage equipment customers throughout the world with plants and warehouses in Illinois, Iowa, the New York metro area, and California, as well as in Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom. BUNN’s quality beverage equipment includes coffee brewers and grinders; liquid coffee dispensers, iced tea brewers; cappuccino, granita, and juice machines; water boilers; water and paper filters.

BUNN assures high quality products by adhering to strict quality guidelines at production plants. This dedication to quality resulted in a recent upgrade in the manufacturing facilities’ quality management registration through ISO 9001:2000.

BUNN Successfully Completes ISO 9001:2000 Triennial Assessment

SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Bunn-O-Matic Corporation, a manufacturer of commercial and home beverage equipment, has announced that its facilities in Creston, Iowa; Springfield, Illinois and White Hall, Illinois facilities have successfully passed ISO 9001:2000 Triennial Assessment. All ISO registered companies must pass this complete audit of all aspects of Quality Management System once every three years in order to continue their registration.

The ISO 9000 series standards are internationally recognized quality management system requirements developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The standards emphasize on quality commitment and planning by top management and all employees. This “system input, system output” approach is measured and evidence of system performance must be demonstrated.

BUNN began the registration process in 1998. The White Hall, Illinois facility was added to the registration in 2003. As part of the process, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) performed an on-site assessment, examination of documented procedures and a survey of the company’s overall operations. To determine continued compliance with ISO 9001:2000, UL will periodically conduct routine surveillance audits of BUNN’s operations.

The successful completion of the Triennial Assessment was made possible by the ongoing and sustained efforts of BUNN employees to continually improve the Quality Management System. At the core of these improvement efforts is the belief that we must understand the customer's, both internal and external, requirements and complete the job right the first time. A key component of the ISO registration is an ongoing program of internal audits conducted by Bunn-O-Matic internal auditors to both educate affected parties to the standards, and, to assure compliance with ISO 9001:2000.
