Over the past week, streets across the United States have gone through a makeover! The windows are adorned with Christmas trees, the dazzling lights are strung, and snow is falling (well, at least it's snowing in some areas). This makeover officially signifies the Christmas holiday season is here! I love to give my coffee a little "holiday makeover" this time of year by adding syrups and creamers with flavors of the season like Peppermint, Cinnamon and Chocolate. I usually use flavored syrups and pre-packaged liquid creamers, however a fellow BUNN employee gave me a recipe from one of her favorite cookbooks for an Amaretto powdered creamer. This got my thinking: why couldn't I use powdered coffee creamer as a base and add all sorts of holiday flavorings? I can have a whole slew of holiday creamers, and the powdered cream base will keep fresh for the whole month! Plus, I can share my concoctions with guests when they come over for the holidays.
I went to my kitchen and started experimenting to make flavored holiday creamers. I have to admit I found some scrumptious recipes! These creamers can even be packed in mini jars and sealed with a bow for a perfect holiday gift.
Check out the recipes below. If you have a creamer recipe please feel free to share in the comments on the blog.
Homemade Peppermint Creamer
Add a spoonful of homemade peppermint creamer to your coffee for a smooth, minty flavor. The flecks of red mixed with white creamer makes this recipe festive in the way it looks too!
Homemade Chocolate Almond Coconut Creamer
Flavors of chocolate, almonds, coconut transform your cup of coffee into a decadent treat.
Amaretto Flavored Coffee Creamer
This delicious recipe comes from Autumn in the Country cookbook. The sweet flavor of this creamer makes it a nice addition to an afternoon cup of coffee!
